Alfresco dining with cafes, bars and some retail outlets overlooking the Swan River. Location: On the southern side of Barrack Square. Summary: Public transport: Blue CAT bus stop 19 and Ferry to Mends Street, South Perth. Access from Barrack Square: Steps and two short ramps at either end of the facility have gradients of 1:13 (4.4°). These lead from the footpath to the large timber boardwalk featuring alfresco dining, restaurants, bars and cafes. Accessible parking: Additional parking bays are a five-minute walk away in the Terrace Road ‘A’ Car Park where there are four accessible bays. Those unable to step up a kerb have to walk along the road for a short distance when coming out of the car park before accessing the footpath. The path from this car park to Barrack Square includes some poorly constructed kerb ramps. Access from accessible car park: Cross the road via the central flush designated crossing point, as there are no kerb ramps allowing direct crossing in front of the Old Perth Port. Alfresco area: Services numerous cafes and bars. Fixed and moveable furniture is haphazard and pedestrians may have difficulty moving around tables, chairs, bikes and crates. Some areas can be barricaded off with bollards and ropes for private functions. Signage: There is minimal signage, however there are several large maps of the area on the river side of Barrack Square. Accessible toilet: A unisex toilet is located on the eastern side of the Old Perth Port. It is open during café and bar trading hours. Toilet:
