Location: Corner of Cathedral Avenue and St George’s Terrace Summary: Telephone: 9325 5766. Accessible Parking: There is no accessible parking
bay onsite and street parking is reserved. The closest accessible
parking areas are: Pick up / set down bay: No designated pick up/set down bay, however
there is room to pick up and set down near the main entrance, by
arrangement. Closest Accessible toilet: Town Hall public toilet on Barrack Street between St George Terrace and Hay Street. Available from 7.00am to 5:45pm. External access: 3 steps from the Cathedral Avenue footpath to the main entrance. There is a brick paved, 1090mm wide ramp (gradient 1:13), without handrails which is adjacent to the steps. Main Entrance off Cathedral Avenue: Wide swing doors are permanently held open providing sufficient space for all wheelchair styles. There is a gentle slope leading to the front door. Internal: There is room through the church for a large wheelchair to be manoeuvred. There are 2 steps up to the altar and 3 steps to the choir area. Seating: There are no designated wheelchair seating spaces, but there is space at the front of the church. Seating is in standard pews with backrests. Padded kneeling cushions are stored on hooks on the back of each row of pews. Information: An audio loop is provided however there is not signage indicating its location. All printed information and signage is in good colour contrast with an easy to read font. Information on the church has been translated into other languages and is displayed at table height at the front of the church. Equipment and service for people with disabilities: Entrance door: The swing doors are 1280mm wide and will be opened by staff. In order to gain access to the hall a 730mm wide portable ramp (gradient 1:11) will be positioned by staff. Internal: The hall is large and has a wooden floor. Servery: The servery is at sitting height. Seating: Moveable chairs and tables are provided.
