External access: Possible from all four directions
around the church premises through small gate entrances. Wheelchair
access is available through a wide, gated pedestrian and vehicular
entrance off Murray Street. The path (driveway) leading up to the
church is wide and has a gradient of 1:9. Cars parked along the
path (driveway) could pose a barrier.
Accessible entrance: The main entrance to the church
has two steps and no handrail. It leads to the entrance foyer, gift
/ book store and rear of the church.
The two minor entrances have heavy wooden double swing doors with
a step ramp. These doors are held open during opening hours and
provide a clear open width of 600mm and 730mm respectively. Assistance
would be required to open the other leaf.
Internal: There is level access throughout the
church. Aisles are carpeted and approximately 1000mm wide.
There is one step (120mm high) at the communion rail and an additional
five steps to the fixed height lectern.
The confessional has 900mm-wide double swing doors towards the rear
of the church on the left-hand side. The altar and the choir platform
can only be accessed via a narrow stairway.
Seating: Wooden pews without padded kneeling. There
is 340mm clearance between the pews. There are no designated wheelchair
seating areas; however, there is space near the Penitent area on
the right-hand side, near the accessible entrance; as well as at
the rear of the church. Information: No audio loop provided but there
are small speakers in the middle of the church. There is a noticeboard
in the foyer, and printed information is displayed in high brochure
stands. Church information is photocopied onto colour paper, in
a font of 10 points. There is no directional signage within the
toilet.
Accessible toilet: An accessible toilet is provided near
the rear of the church on the left hand side. There is an access
symbol on the entrance door. The entrance door is set back 560mm
into the wall; hence assistance may be required to open the entrance
door.
