Location: Situated adjacent to Royal Perth Hospital and surrounds St Mary’s Cathedral. Access Map Reference: P11 Summary: Closest accessible parking: Signage: Minimal signage throughout the area. External Access: Step free access is available at the Murray Street and Goderich Street entrances to the Square. The Murray Street entrance incorporates a driveway, which has a steep gradient of 1:9 up to the main entrance of St Mary’s Cathedral. All other entrances have steps, without a handrail. A slab footpath circles the Square (along Victoria Avenue). A series of slab paths run through the Square and connects all entrances. Slabs may be uneven and trip hazards exist along these footpaths. There is circulation space throughout Victoria Square to accommodate all wheelchair sizes. There are no cross walks over Victoria Avenue, except at the Goderich Street entrance to the Square. Retail: Royal Perth Hospital has a café. Seating: There are two shaded park benches, set into lawn, on the west side of the Square. Seats are 430mm high and do not have armrests. An additional row of seats are located outside the square, adjacent the main entrance to the hospital. These are set into the footpath, have armrests and a seat height of 430mm. Two accessible drinking fountains are provided near the park bench seating, adjacent the main entrance of the hospital. The area is lit for night use. Due to the proximity to the hospital, there are pedestrians regularly in the area both at day and night.
