wheelchair platform lift. For security reasons this lift is locked
and a staff member needs to be called to operate the lift.
The wheelchair platform lift has a platform that is 720mm
wide and 950mm in length, with safety ramps at both ends. It has
a fold down perch seat and a small push button that operates the
device. Alternatively it is operated by an attendant via the push
buttons located at the top and base of the stairs. Controls are
at 1160mm high (top) and 1100mm (base).

up and down Internal: There are two levels with a short gently
sloping ramp connecting the upper level with the lower level. There
is ample circulation around the seating for all sizes of wheelchairs.
Flooring is tiles. Food outlets: There is ample circulation along
the front of the food stalls for all sizes of wheelchairs. Food
displays can be seen from a high sitting height, counters are at
high sitting height. Seating: Tables and chairs are moveable. Chairs
are a standard height without armrests. Tables are 720mm high with
a central pedestal and provide knee clearance. Signage: Very little signage and no directional
signage to the toilets. Most blackboard style menus have good colour
contrast and are easy to read. Accessible toilet
Location: Upper level at the rear corner of the food hall.
Availability: The toilet is kept locked and any staff member will
open the door when requested.
Gender: Unisex
Signage: There is an access symbol indicating the location of the
toilet in the food court
External access: Path of travel to the toilet is barrier free.
External door: The 760mm wide external door has a lever handle and
it leads to an airlock. Has a small locking snib. Smaller style
wheelchairs could move through this area to the toilet cubicle.
Baby change table: A pull down baby change table that is set at
950mm high (has good knee clearance) is located in the airlock. Toilet:
Cubicle door is 770mm wide with a lever handle and a small locking
snib.

Basin height: 800mm Lighting: The light is on at all times.
