External access: Access is via a lift from the Hay Street end of Paragon CBD Arcade, suitable for all wheelchair users. This lift is outside of the gates that close off the arcade at night.

Lift: This lift has an 890mm wide door with a car size of 1400mm x 1700mm. External controls are 900mm and internal controls are 1100mm high. Control buttons are large and illuminates and there is visual but no auditory information available.

Main entrance: The lift provides direct access to the gym and is large enough for users of all wheelchair types.

Foyer and reception: Foyer is suitable for users of all wheelchair types. Reception desk is at standing height.

Services and equipment for people with disabilities: The gym has a trainer who specialises in working with people with disabilities and has 15 years experience in this area. He is able to modify and adapt equipment to suit individuals with varying disabilities.

Internal: There is sufficient circulation space within the gym for all wheelchairs to move around. The gym is on level one and the pool facilities are on level two.

Level 2

Access: Access from Level 1 (gym) to level 2 (pool) is via an internal escape door and internal corridors on both levels, leading to a lift.

Level 1 access to lift: The door from the gym to the corridor is 820mm wide and has very limited circulation space around the door on both sides and would be suitable for users of smaller wheelchairs only. The door can be opened internally with a push bar handle and requires a key to be opened externally.

Level 2 access from lift: Leaving the lift on level 2 and moving to the pool area is similar to the door and circulation space on level one. The pool door has a circular handle set at 1500mm high.

Lift: This lift which is very large requires a close proximity card to move between level one and two. External controls are 1200mm and internal controls that have tactile and Braille information are set between 1100mm and 1200mm high.
Internal (Pool / sauna / spa / change rooms)
Facilities: pool, sauna, spa, male and female accessible change rooms with toilets and showers.

Access around the pool to the change rooms may be restricted for larger wheelchair users by moveable large pot plants.

Pool: Raised 460mm above the floor. Raised sides are 390mm wide and there are 3 wide steps down to the pool. There is no specialised equipment for those unable to negotiate steps.

Sauna: A wide light door opens to limited circulation space within the sauna. The bench seat is 540mm high and there would be room for a small wheelchair to enter this area.

Spa: There are 4 steps with one handrail entering the spa.

Emergency exit: There is a ramp leading to a wide emergency exit door opening onto a large external landing.

Male and female change rooms:
One male ands one female facility are available to be used by all patrons. Designs are a mirror image.
Signage: Nil
External access: Entrance corridor is 900mm wide with a change in direction.
External door: External sliding door to the change area is 800mm wide with a small snib, a D handle on one side and a recessed handle on the other.
Toilet / shower door: 780mm wide sliding door with a D handle on one side and a recessed handle on the other. The snib is small
Pan height: 460mm
Basin height: 470mm
Shower seat height: 470mm
