Location: Cloisters Square is a quiet alfresco and public sitting area which is directly off and to the west of the Cloisters Shopping Arcade. The area provides a two-tiered paved area with park bench seating and tables with chairs. Access to the upper tier is via two steps. The square is shaded with large sails and umbrellas. Summary: Opening hours (public access): Public transport: Train and bus stations are a long walk from Cloisters Square. The Red CAT bus stops at the front of His Majesty’s Theatre (stop 18) or on the corner of Hay and Milligan Streets (stop 19). Pedestrian Access: Direct access is from Cloisters Shopping Arcade (Hay Street Level) or from Plaza level of Mt Newman House (lift). Approach to the square is barrier-free. There is space around the Square for a person in a large power wheelchair to manoeuvre. Tables and chairs are moveable if required. Seating: There is a choice of park bench seats without armrests, set at 450mm high, or alternatively, café style seating with a choice of chairs with or without armrests. Café chairs and tables are moveable. Drinking fountain: Nil. Safety: Passive surveillance from passing pedestrians. Signage: No signage. Accessible toilets: Nearest unisex accessible toilet is located in the Cloisters Car Park or Shafto Lane.
