Location: Cloisters Shopping Arcade links Hay Street and St Georges Terrace and is between Milligan and King Streets. The arcade provides pedestrian access and has a large array of cafes: take away, sit down and self-serve style, plus retail shopping. The Cloisters Square is located directly adjacent to the arcade and level access is available between the Cloisters Arcade and Cloisters Square. A heritage building ‘The Cloisters’ is located on the St Georges Terrace end of the arcade at ground level. As the Perth City precinct is on a gentle slope, the Hay Street end of the arcade is at street level from Hay Street, while the St Georges Terrace end is at Plaza (upper) level. Access from the Cloisters Shopping Arcade to St Georges Terrace is via an escalator or a lift located in the adjacent Mt Newman House building. The arcade is wide, level, flat and tiled. Access into all shops and cafes is level. Summary: Opening hours (public access): Public transport: Train and bus stations are a long walk from Cloisters Shopping Arcade. The Red CAT bus stop, His Majesty’s Theatre is at the front of the arcade (stop 18) or on the corner of Hay and Milligan Streets (stop 19). Accessible Parking: Pedestrian Access: There is level and unobstructed pedestrian access from Hay Street into and throughout the arcade. Access from St Georges Terrace is via: Lift (Mt Newman House): Pedestrian access from St George’s Terrace (ground) to Cloisters Square (Plaza) is via the lift located in the Mt Newman House Foyer. The pedestrian pathway off St Georges Terrace is level and even. Access into the Mt Newman House foyer is via two sets of glazed automatic opening doors. There is no directional signage to the lift. The lift car size is 1890mm x 1760mm with a wide doorway. The external controls are free of obstructions and positioned at 1160mm high, internal controls are 860mm – 1250mm high. Controls have good colour contrast. There is internal and external visual information. There is an external audible tone on arrival of the lift but no internal audible information. There is a glazed, automatic opening door from the ground floor of Mt Newman House / lift foyer to the Cloisters car park and a unisex accessible toilet. Lift (Cloisters Car Park): Lift access is available from the Cloisters Car Park to Cloisters Arcade. The lift opens at the Hay Street end of Cloisters Arcade.
