The King Street Arts Centre is located between Murray and King Streets. The Arts Centre houses a range of arts-related organisations plus two galleries - FORM and Gullotti Galleries, as well as a high quality craft shop. Directional signage to the art centre off King Street may be difficult to read and can not be readily seen by passing pedestrians. Location: Between Murray and King Streets Summary: Public Transport: The number 29 Red CAT bus stop is on Murray Street. Pedestrian access from the CAT bus stop to the Arts Centre is via King Street and a side vehicular / pedestrian access way adjacent the Etro Café. The pathway is lit for night use. The nearest train station is Perth which is a considerable distance from the venue, which is easily accessed by the Red CAT. Universal drop off Bay: There are three -15minute set down bays off the King Street side entrance which are suitable for cars or taxis. Accessible parking: There are six accessible parking bays located at His Majesty's Car Park on Murray Street. Access from car park: There is clear pedestrian access via King Street and a side vehicular / pedestrian access way adjacent the Etro Café. The pathway is lit for night use. Murray Street entrance: There are five steps at the main entrance to both the Gullotti and FORM galleries. King Street entrance: An alternative accessible entrance, with threshold ramp and automatic sliding doors is available off King Street. Foyer: The foyer / exhibition area provides good circulation space for all wheelchair types and is level throughout. There is a suspended staircase in the foyer with a section underneath at head height. Steps lead from the foyer to Community Arts Network WA. Signage: The sign board outside has large, easy to read lettering in good colour contrast, but is high on the wall. There is minimal internal public signage and no directional signs to the lift or toilets. Lift: A lift is located half way along the main entrance corridor that links the Murray Street entrance and King Street main foyer. It can be easily accessed from the King Street entrance. This lift is 1400mm x 1400mm, with a clear open door width of 900mm. Direction of travel information is displayed both externally and internally. There are no auditory announcements. External buttons are 1100mm high and free of obstruction. Two sets of internal controls are between 900mm - 1200mm and have Braille and tactile information. The lift accesses all publicly accessible floors. Audio loop: No audio loop is provided.
