Media Releases

The following media releases are available from the Media Centre on the City of Perth website:

New initiatives to keep Australia Day beautiful
This year the City of Perth will be encouraging members of the public to keep Australia Day beautiful and participate in the Coca Cola Recycle and Reward Program.

What's on for 2009 Skyworks
On Monday 26 January the largest annual community festivities in the country, Lotterywest Australia Day Skyworks, will celebrate its 25th anniversary, and Western Australians are preparing for something truly spectacular!

Approximately 300,000 people are expected to line the foreshore of the Swan River for this celebration of national pride and the WA community spirit.

Ngalang Koolark
The City of Perth invites all Western Australians to the Supreme Court Gardens on Australia Day to experience Ngalang Koolark, an Aboriginal Concert celebrating our nation's history and culture.

The name of the festival translates to 'Our Home', and this welcoming theme is strongly represented in the activities and entertainment taking place throughout the day.

Air BP Air Show
Look to the skies this Australia Day as the City of Perth will present the AIR BP Air Show - which will include the largest fleet of vintage aeroplanes ever to fly over Perth.
