Residents Survey

On a regular basis the City of Perth conducts a survey of residents, to help identify how it can improve the standard of living for those residing within the City's boundaries. The survey gives residents an opportunity to express their opinions on inner city living and assists the City of Perth to plan for residential housing and community amenities in the city. The results also assist the development sector to provide housing products that better suit the needs and demands of the inner city housing market.

The 2009 Survey of Residents was completed by 803 households and the responses indicated a strong enjoyment of inner city living in Perth, and were positive and constructive in their nature. This was reflected in the extremely high level of satisfaction with inner city living expressed by more than nine out of every ten residents.

The foremost reason why residents chose to live in the city was to be close to work, followed by a preference for a low maintenance home.
