World Energy Cities Partnership
In acknowledgement of the importance of the resources industry, both to the state and its' capital, the City of Perth continues its long standing affiliation with the World Energy Cities Partnership (WECP) – an international network of 16 oil and gas cities worldwide, promoting the exchange of industry knowledge and economic development expertise and strategies.
The strength of the City of Perth’s relationship with WECP is reflected by the fact The Right Honourable The Lord Mayor, Ms. Lisa Scaffidi, was elected President of the WECP in October 2009 for a term of 2 years.
2010 Annual General Meeting will be held in Perth, which will see over 150 delegates descend upon Perth for the AGM, as well as a conference and Business to Business opportunities.
As part of a larger WECP project the City of Perth is undertaking research projects targeted at cluster effectiveness and supply chains of small to medium enterprises. This project is being conducted in partnership with Curtin University Business School, WA Energy Research Alliance (WAERA) and Chevron Australia.
