Arts and Cultural Sponsorship Program

The City of Perth’s Arts and Cultural Sponsorship Program supports innovative arts and cultural activities to excite and engage city visitors throughout the year.  Arts and cultural organisations, community groups and individuals are invited to propose innovative, city-based projects in two distinct project rounds each year.

The rounds program is divided into two categories, Creative Community Projects and Arts Projects.  Arts Projects encourage artists to publically share, explore and strengthen their practice. Creative Community Projects enhance social well being and encourage participation in cultural life. This program aims to represent a broad range of art forms and creative cultural practice that reflects Perth as a community with a diverse and vibrant culture.

Arts and Cultural Grants
Arts and Cultural Grants assists community groups, not for profit organisations and small businesses* to produce and present high quality arts and cultural activities to the public.  Some projects may meet some objectives in both categories. It is the applicant’s responsibility to select the most appropriate category according to the aims and objectives of the project.  The maximum amount available as a grant is $10,000. Only requests of less than $2,000 can be considered outside of funding rounds.
* refer to project eligibility requirements in the grants and sponsorship rounds guidelines.

Arts and Cultural Sponsorship
Arts and Cultural Sponsorship assists cultural organisations and companies to produce and present high quality arts and cultural projects or a series of projects to the public. This activity must commence within the relevant project round and be completed within the same financial year. While organisations that have a history of successful past projects (undertaken through this program) are encouraged to apply, all proposals are considered on the merit of each application.

How to Apply
Before submitting a proposal, applicants must be familiar with the Arts & Cultural Sponsorship objectives, assessment criteria and application procedures relevant to the category in which you are applying.  All applicants are strongly advised to discuss their application with the Arts & Cultural Sponsorship Officer prior to submission to ensure the project and the applicant is eligible. Please be advised that grant applications from ineligible applicants or late applicants will not be assessed.

It is highly recommended that applicants make an appointment with the Arts & Cultural Program Sponsorship Officer to discuss the proposal at least two weeks prior to submitting an application.
