WHEN: 8.30 am, Thursday 2 June 2011
WHERE: Level 6 Albert Facey House, 469 Wellington Street Perth

Stage 3A (Broad Civil)
Stage 3A is progressing well and running to schedule. The majority of work is being undertaken at night to cause the least amount of disruption to surrounding business. During this stage access to all businesses will be maintained. In the last fortnight the stage and surrounding water feature have been demolished and waterproofing completed. A large area of paving has also been completed along the Forrest Chase colonnade. Over the next week work will focus on the paving outside Australia the Gift, Bocelli, Myer and Cue, this work will be undertaken in sections. At night, work will include the removal of demolition material and the commencement of concrete work for the new slab.
Stage 2 (Downer EDI)
Downer EDI has advised the City of Perth that the forecast practical completion date for stage 2 is Tuesday 19 July 2011. Over the last fortnight work on the 300mm water main diversion in the Forrest Place area has been completed and backfilled, the final layer of asphalt was laid in all four lanes of Wellington Street and new pavement at the top of the loading dock exit ramp has been constructed. Over the next fortnight work will continue around the new stage area, the stair and lift enclosure and the stage canopy. Earthworks will be undertaken between the new stage and Wellington Street in preparation for the concrete paving slabs.
Loading dock
This weekend Downer EDI will be constructing the new pavement at the top of the entry ramp to the loading dock/basement. This work will take place between 7am Saturday 4 June 2011 and midnight Sunday 5 June 2011. During this period access and egress will be via the exit ramp under traffic management conditions with traffic controllers in place. This will allow time for the concrete to gain strength prior to traffic using the new ramp. During this time granite paving will also be completed on the Woolworths driveway.
Traffic news
Closure of lanes on Wellington Street will be on an as needs basis to accommodate works ie the middle lane to allow installation of light poles in the median; or a lane closest to Forrest Place will be closed to allow deliveries to site. Although these closures will change from day to day, during peak hours all four lanes will be open to traffic, closures will only occur between 9 am and 4pm or at night.
