Free public WiFi
The City of Perth recognises that internet access is of growing importance in the digital age. Free public WiFi is provided through 135 sites at popular commercial, tourism and cultural locations within the City of Perth. Coverage includes: the CBD, East Perth (Claisebrook Cove), Northbridge, and Wellington Square Park.
The 'Perth WiFi' network provides blanket coverage, so once you are connected you can roam between locations.
Public IoT LoRa Network
The City of Perth provides a free public Long Range (LoRa) Network service. The City of Perth was the first major Australian City to provide public dual band to support both AU915 and AS923. Any Innovator, citizen scientist, resident, community group or businesses, can use LoRa to connect to the “Internet of Things” or IoT.

12 Dual Band gateways are permanently installed on high points across the City of Perth Local Government Area.

What is the role of The Things Network (TTN)?
TTN is a free global open LoRa Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN) server provider where you can register your LoRa devices to start logging data from your sensors. TTN is a community based organisation and provides information and forums to get you started with LoRa technology to become actively involved in the “Internet of Things”.
