Elected Members fees and allowances are determined by the salaries and allowances tribunal according to 'band' classification for local governments in Western Australia. The City of Perth is classified by the tribunal as a 'band 1' local government.

At the Ordinary Meeting of Council held on 17 May 2016, Council resolved to publish Mayor / Council Member sitting fees, allowances and meeting attendances, as reported in the annual report.

This information is provided below:

Council Member Meeting Attendance Fee (including Lord Mayor and Deputy Lord Mayor)*

$609 per meeting

Council Member Committee Attendance Fee as prescribed in regulation 30 (3A) of the Local Government Administration Regulations 1996 (including Lord Mayor and Deputy Lord Mayor)*

$305 per meeting

Lord Mayor Allowance

$60,900 per annum

***Council Member Meeting and Committee Attendance Fees are currently not being paid as the Council has been suspended.

Mindarie Regional Council

The City of Perth is currently represented on the Mindarie Regional Council by Commissioner Lumsden (member) and Commissioner Hammond (Deputy).

Allowances payable to Council Members of Mindarie Regional Council (MRC) are specified in MRC Policy “CP01 - Annual Fees, Allowances and Expenses for Councillor”, which in turn is based on the SAT determination for Elected Members.

In 2015/16, MRC Council Members are paid:

  • $10,300 – Annual Allowance
  • $1000 – Expenses (Technology)
  • $140 – Deputy per meeting

Tamala Park Regional Council

The City of Perth is currently represented on the Tamala Park Regional Council by Commissioner Hammond (member) and Commissioner McMath (deputy).

Allowances payable to Council Members of Tamala Park Regional Council (TPRC) are based on the SAT determination for Elected Members.

In 2015/16, Tamala Park Regional Council Members are paid:

  • $10,455 – Annual Allowance
  • $236 – Deputy per meeting
