Reporting misconduct

The City of Perth does not tolerate corrupt or other improper conduct, including mismanagement of public resources, in the exercise of the public functions of the City of Perth and its officers, employees and contractors. The City of Perth is committed to the aims and objectives of the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2003. It recognises the value and importance of contributions of staff to enhance administrative and management practices and strongly supports disclosures being made as to corrupt or other improper conduct.

The City of Perth will take all reasonable steps to provide protection to those who make such disclosures from any detrimental action in reprisal for the making of a public interest disclosure. The City of Perth does not tolerate any of its officers, employees or contractors engaging in acts of victimisation or reprisal against those who make public interest disclosures.

Employees and others are encouraged to contact a nominated public interest disclosure Officer to seek guidance on their disclosure and to lodge completed public interest disclosure forms.

Public Sector Commission (PSC)

The PSC’s preference for all authorities and individuals is to receive allegations electronically via PSC’s online form. This helps the PSC to capture the information they need in your own words and assists in quick processing.

Corruption and Crime Commission (CCC)

Anyone can report suspected serious misconduct by Western Australian public officers to the CCC. Fact Sheet No. 3, entitled Reporting Serious Misconduct, provides information about how to make a report and the subsequent process involved.

You are able to make an anonymous report of serious misconduct online, however anonymous reports are often difficult to assess. If you have information that could be useful to the CCC, you can also call a confidential toll free number on 1800 803 186.
