Rates exemption application

Under S6.26 of the Local Government Act 1995, some organisations may be eligible to apply for a rates exemption.

What you needComplete the Rates Exemption Application Form and supply supporting documentation for assessment.
Eligibility requirements

Businesses that may be eligible to apply for a non-rateable status:

  • Charitable organisations
  • Religious bodies
  • Government agencies.

Rates exemptions will remain in place unless circumstances of the exemption change or when the review period is due which is usually between one to three years. A review will be undertaken to determine if the exemption is to continue.
