Cathedral Square Precinct

Event spaces

In light of the emerging COVID-19 pandemic and concerns about public health, the City of Perth Library has decided to cancel all upcoming venue bookings from Thursday 19 March 2020 until Thursday 30 April 2020. The Library is currently planning to reopen bookings on 1 May 2020, although this date may change if health concerns continue. This decision was not taken lightly. However, in light of the advice from the Federal and State governments being updated daily, the Library wanted to make the decision in a timely manner.

All actions the City is taking are guided by the need to flatten the infection curve, a position being adopted worldwide, nationally and locally in minimising the impacts of COVID-19 on community health and the economy. Thank you for your understanding; we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

The award-winning City of Perth Library is located in the vibrant Cathedral Square precinct in the heart of the City. The Library boasts beautiful views of the City and Swan River and the interiors are warm and inviting. Clever design provides interesting light and shadow effects throughout the building. The Library building employs universal design principles, making it accessible for people with diverse abilities. There are ample public transport and parking options nearby.

Auditorium

The Auditorium is a flexible space suitable for functions of up to 90 people (seated). The adjacent breakout area overlooks a vertical green wall. The reflection pool water feature at the base of this wall brings natural light to this level. A small finishing kitchen, next to the lifts, is available should catering be required. This level also has universal access toilet facilities.
