By world standards Perth is a very safe, liveable, vibrant city with a diverse community. As a capital city we work in partnership with many organisations especially the police, a range of government and non-government agencies and the community to ensure the streets and open spaces are safe and accessible to residents, workers and visitors.

The SafeCity Strategy 2016 - 2020 outlines the focus areas for strategy development and actions that will contribute to achieving the 2029+ Vision that Perth is recognised as one of the safest cities in the world.

The five focus areas for the SafeCity Strategy are:

1.  Safe Environments
2.  Surveillance and Monitoring
3.  Homelessness
4.  Drugs and Alcohol
5.  Emergency Management

The City has many initiatives to address community safety and minimise crime, graffiti and anti-social behaviour as well as improving perceptions of safety.  It works closely with local police to prevent crime and respond to issues when they occur.

The WA Police Making it Tougher for Crooks website and Neighbourhood Watch website both have a wide range of resources to assist the community in preventing crime including printed materials on personal safety and property security.

If you have information relating to suspected criminal activity you can report this anonymously on line or by phone.
