Visitors will have noticed the City of Perth reception now incorporates a circular desk, enabling stronger security and increased disability access.

Chair Commissioner Eric Lumsden said the new design allowed the friendly Customer Service team to better engage with visitors, staff and ratepayers.

“Additionally, the 360-degree circular desk design works to provide flow through the building, housing up to four officers with the ability to tend to the same number of customers simultaneously,” Commissioner Lumsden said.

The renovations were carried out by 30 City of Perth staff, designers, consultants, carpenters and electricians.

The renovations are part of the City’s aim to strengthen customer service and the Customer Service Team is leading the way through a focus on improving response times.

In the past 12 months contact with the public via email, telephone and social media  has risen by 39 per cent, and responses by Customer Service Officers to direct social media enquiries have jumped almost 450 per cent.
