With a wide array of brunch options and wellness offerings appealing to riverside relaxers, runners and cyclists, as well as Sunday strollers, brunch buffs and everyone in between, the markets have welcomed 11,000 patrons across its first four Sundays.

It’s been particularly well received by running clubs, with early morning bridge runs doubling in attendance after being re-routed to finish back at the markets.

The integration of wellness activities has also proved popular, with the two weekly sessions of sound healing and yoga in the Bell Tower decking area continually sold out.

The markets have also activated the precinct on otherwise quiet Sunday mornings, with local businesses welcoming the additional foot traffic and flow-on business.

“The Sunday markets at Barrack Square have been a great success, not only for our business but for neighbouring businesses as well, with increased footfall, busy cafes and kiosks and generally positive community vibes throughout the whole area,” said Pinnacle Travel Group’s Director of Sales and Commercial Partnerships, Graeme Skeggs.

“The addition of the Sunday Markets to Barrack Square has brought an energetic vibe to the precinct which has been great. We’ve seen lots more people in the area which has been positive for our business and those of our neighbours. We’d love to see the markets continue and hopefully encourage more tourists to join locals in this great initiative,” said General Manager SeaLink WA, Leycester Cory.

Running until 20 April, the markets open from 7am-12pm, and market-goers can enjoy free parking at the City’s Terrace Road car park.

Thanks to its immediate popularity, the City was pleased to confirm at the February Ordinary Council Meeting that the markets will return to Barrack Square again for an extended season, set to run on Sundays weekly from November 2025 to March 2026.

Don’t miss the final two Sundays of this season, with new stalls ‘Bali in Perth’ and ‘Satay Syah Baba’ set to add new flavours to the brunch menu.
