Chair Commissioner Eric Lumsden said In the Zone, the 2018 Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards and the Business News 40under40 Awards, were important events on the Perth business calendar.

“Sponsoring these events allows the City to build a prosperous, future focused and resilient city,” Commissioner Lumsden said.

“Encouraging a range of business-based events across each year also helps diversify the local economy.”

In the Zone is a full-day conference, held at Optus Stadium, focusing on building Australia’s networks among space experts and international policy makers in the Indo-Pacific region.

The conference is convened by Perth USAsia in collaboration with The University of Western Australia, and aims to promote Perth as a knowledge hub while attracting international investment.

The Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards are the state’s premier tourism awards and bring together business and tourism operators, providing a unique networking and development opportunity.

The Business News 40under40 Awards recognises the commercial and philanthropic achievements of young leaders in Western Australia. The City has supported the awards, to be held in March next year, since its inception in 2002.
