About 'Public Spaces and Public Life'

In 2009, Gehl Architects was invited to conduct a follow-up study to the Public Spaces & Public Life in Perth, 1994. Gehl Architects’ work is based on the extensive public space research of Jan Gehl. With the ‘human dimension’ as a starting point, Jan Gehl has, over four decades, has worked to improve city environments in Denmark and abroad.

The ‘Public Spaces and Public Life’ methodology has been used for the two Perth surveys in 1993 and 2008/09, so that it has been possible to trace changes in public life over the last 15 years in Perth and compare the current situation with other cities.
