Hoardings and Signs
Hoardings & Gantries
Hoardings and gantries are used on building sites throughout our city to contain works within the site, prevent building materials from spilling onto footpaths and to ensure the safety of city patrons.
Hoardings should be constructed in solid, new materials and painted white, however, murals and streetscapes on hoardings can increase their visual appeal and are encouraged. Applicants are requested to submit designs when applying for a Hoarding/Gantry Approval.

When you apply for a Hoarding/Gantry Approval, the following is required:
- Completed "Hoarding/Gantry Application Form"
- Two sets of site plans of the affected area (to scale)
- Designs of any murals, decorations or signs
- Fees
Note: Reasonable notice of intent to erect a hoarding must be given
