Standards and Guidelines
This section provides access to a range of the City of Perth's Standards and Guidelines.
As a new section, you are currently limited to accessing the documents listed below.
Other documents are planned to be made available soon.
- Design and Construction Notes
These technical Notes have been developed by the City of Perth as a guide to the detailed design, construction and maintenance of the City's public open spaces. The technical Notes are based on the City's experience and 'local' knowledge of urban design practices, and seek to:
- integrate design elements in public spaces;
- standardise repetitive detailing;
- advance quality control processes.
The Design and Construction Notes are subject to constant review and the addition of new Notes. It is the responsibility of the user to ensure that the most current guidelines are being followed.
- Safer Design Guidelines
The City of Perth Safer Design Guidelines (2004) provide technical guidance to reduce the risk of crime as well as reduce the fear of crime, and specifically relate to the City's higher density mixed use environment.
- Construction Barriers in Public Areas - Guidelines
These guidelines have been developed to address construction works in pedestrian areas which potentially impact on the independent, safe and dignified movement of pedestrians including blind and vision impaired people. The construction works include holes and trenches dug in the footpath as well as the dumping of soil, sand and bricks.
