Organisational Structure
The day to day running of the city is the responsibility of the Chief Executive Officer, who, along with Directors and staff, act on the Council's decisions by developing and putting into practice the Council policies and resolutions.
The role of the Chief Executive Officer is to provide overall strategic direction, leadership and co-ordination of the organisation. He is responsible for City Management issues, policy information and Elected Member liaison.
There are four Directorates that carry out the work of the Council, each led by a Director:

Director, Planning & Development - Martin Mileham
Director, Business Units - Doug Forster
Director, Service Units - Garry Dunne
