Library Events

Library closing for installation of new carpet from Monday, 30 November 2009,  re-opening Tuesday, 8 December 2009.
No Library items will be due back during the week the Library is closed, BUT there will be a secure returns box in the Library foyer to drop off your items if you wish. Please note however, you will not be able to come into the Library to select new items. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Please do not phone the Library during the week of refurbishment as staff will be unable to take calls.

Items can still be renewed and/or reserved by accessing the Library’s online catalogue at http://www.perth.wa.gov.au/library and using the ‘Catalogue’ link.

E-mails can still be sent to the Library but there may be a delay in responding to your e-mail. Our e-mail address is perth.library@cityofperth.wa.gov.au      Please note that the toilets located on the lower ground will also be unavailable during this period due to maintenance work.

In addition to the advertised calendar events, the Library also holds regular events. These are: 

Free Beginners Internet Course - Every Wednesday (booking required) - 10.00am to 11.30am.
This is a single session of basic introduction designed for new computer users. 

Board games for Seniors - Every Thursday - 9.30am to 11.30am.
Scrabble, cards, chess, checkers and more. Tea and coffee provided.

Library Book Club - The club meets at the Library on the second Friday of every month from 1pm to 2.30pm. Discussion topics are available in the Library Events Calendar. 
The Club is self regulating and new members are welcome.

Aging with Positive Attitude Group meets regularly in the City of Perth Library for discussion and social interaction. The group meets on the 1st & 3rd Friday of each month and is informal & self-directed.
Goals are social interaction, personal empowerment, learning, mutual support & sharing life experiences.

Preschool Storytime - Join our free weekly story-time session every Thursday from 10.00am – 10.30am.
Enjoy interactive stories, rhymes and crafts. For more information call 9461 3581.

Mah-jong anyone? - Come and play Mah-jong in the Library every Wednesday from 1.00pm - 3.00pm.
This is a free event and everyone is welcome.
