City of Perth Festival of Christmas

Experience the magic and excitement of Christmas in the City for all the family

This year the City of Perth will be casting magic over WA families with the Festival of Christmas.

Join us in the city for a range of free community events that celebrate the festive season.

The Festival of Christmas will launch on Friday 14 November with the iconic Turning on the Christmas Lights proudly sponsored by David Jones at Forrest Place and culminates with the Christmas Nativity on Monday 22 and Tuesday 23 December.

And then there were lights! - City of Perth Christmas Lights
Friday 13 November to 6 January 2010, CBD, Northbridge, West Perth.
Join the Lord Mayor, Elliot Smith and Santa on Friday 13 November in Forrest Place as we turn on the Christmas Lights. 
Marvel at the dazzling array of coloured lights and stunning decorations throughout the City and Northbridge this Christmas, including the giant Bethlehem Star at The Bell Tower, Home of the Swan Bells.

Friday Evening Performances
Friday 11 & 18 December, in the Malls, 7pm.
Get your Friday evening shopping off to a toe-tapping start by attending the free micro concerts in the City.

The RAC Channel 7 Christmas Pageant with the City of Perth
Sun 6 December, Langley Park, 7.30am to 2pm. 
Returning again to a Sunday morning, with a new pageant route and a big family carnival on Langley Park. It will start off with a big Aussie sausage sizzle breakfast from 7.30am, the parade from 9.30am, carnival rides and family entertainment from 10.30am to 2pm.

Christmas Gift Wrapping
Friday 11 to Thursday 24 December, Murray Street Mall, 10am to 3pm daily and 10am to 8pm on extended trading days.
Charity Link will operate the City of Perth’s gift wrapping service. Gifts purchased at City stores will be beautifully wrapped for a gold coin donation. All proceeds support Charity Link’s Annual Christmas Appeal.

Roving Carollers 
Friday 11  to Thursday 24 December, in the City
Deck the malls with bells and holly. Merry carollers spread the Christmas spirit by singing their way around the City over the festive season.

Roving Santa 
Friday 11 to Thursday 24 December, in the City.
Santa and his helper will be handing out Christmas goodies and spreading Christmas cheer to shoppers.

Santa Train
Monday 21 to Wednesday 23 December
Santa is swapping his sleigh for a train this Christmas. Enjoy a magical experience with Santa and his helper on various train lines into the City for Christmas cheer, entertainment and shopping.

IGA Carols by Candlelight
Sunday 20 December, Supreme Court Gardens, 7.30pm
Take a picnic and relax under the stars as you and the whole family sing along to your favourite Christmas carols.

Christmas Nativity
Monday 21 to Wednesday 23 December, Forrest Place, 7.30pm
The traditional story of Christmas is bought to life in Forrest Place with hundreds of performers, live animals and Christmas carols. Be sure to bring the whole family to this enchanting annual event.
