A local government, as a result of its own initiative, at the request of a landowner or following a direction from the Minister for Planning, may resolve to amend its local planning scheme.

Amending a local planning scheme 

Amendments may be made to bring the local planning scheme into line with:

  • strategic objectives;
  • the needs of the community; or
  • State Government legislation and policies.  

Amendments are also made from time to time to:

  • clarify and simplify planning provisions; and 
  • provide for flexibility where appropriate.

Amendment No. 40 – 28 and 32 Troode Street and 196 Colin Place, West Perth

 

This Amendment proposes to introduce a Special Control Area over 28 and 32 Troode Street and 196 Colin Place, West Perth.  This will allow for the land to be treated as one site for the purposes of allocating plot ratio floor area and for Lots 52 and 200 to be treated as one site for the purposes of calculating commercial tenant car parking.

Amendment No. 39 – 553 and 565 – 579A Hay Street, 38A St Georges Terrace and 28 Barrack Street, Perth (Cathedral Precinct) Special Control Area

 

The Amendment proposes to introduce a Special Control area over the land situated at 553 and 565-579A Hay Street, 38A St Georges Terrace and 28 Barrack Street, Perth to facilitate the sharing of existing car parking bays within the SCA amongst tenants and their guests.  The sharing of car parking bays is intended to occur at the discretion of tenants within the SCA through a private agreement.
