The Attic

The Attic on Level Five is a space for young adults (12 to 24 years). On this floor young adults have access to:

  • A collection of books, magazines, graphic novels and DVDs
  • Information on young adult events and programs
  • Computers and WiFi
  • Study rooms.

Study rooms

The study rooms on Level Five can be booked for one session per group, per day. Sessions are two hours long. Young adults with a current City of Perth Library membership can book a room by phone on (08) 9461 3500 or in person on Level Five. The study rooms can be booked up to a week in advance.

Please note that your booking will be cancelled if you do not arrive within fifteen minutes of your booking time.

Playstation 4s

Our consoles are Sony Playstation 4s. Depending on the game, up to two people can use one terminal at one time.

To book gaming time, you must have an active City of Perth Library card. Money owing or overdue items will exclude you from using the Playstations. Access is controlled by the staff member on Level Five. You must supply your Library card to be issued a handset. A console can be booked for a two hour session, once a day. Staff will advise which machine you can use. All machines have identical software and settings. You must vacate the console when asked by staff.

Lost or broken handsets will result in a $99 replacement fee. Do not give your borrowed handset to another person.

Our current roster of games is as follows:

  • Brothers (M)
  • Counterspy (M)
  • FIFA 2016 (G)
  • LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens (PG)
  • Rocket League (ALL)
  • Super Meat Boy (PG)
  • Tharsis (PG)
  • TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan (M)

Each handset has a headphone jack. You may either use earbud headphones (these can be bought from the Concierge Desk on the Ground Floor) or have the sound switched off.  All microphone inputs are disabled.

Most games have an autosave function and an option to manually save your game. We cannot prevent other users from accessing or deleting saved games. We aren’t able to guarantee that a certain console will be available at a certain time.

PS4 bookings cannot be made over the phone or ahead of time.
