The Clean Machine service initially launched as a day-time trial in late-September, to coincide with AFL Grand Final week, and has been utilised approximately 120 times by local businesses and visitors to the city.

The highly visible, solar powered Clean Machine ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) operates from 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday across the high traffic areas of Perth, including St George’s Terrace, Hay St Mall, Murray St Mall, Forrest Place, Yagan Square, King Street, Roe Street and James Street.

Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said the Clean Machine is designed to make it as easy as possible for members of the public and local businesses to alert the City of Perth to any urgent cleaning requirements.

“We are committed to making the city as clean as it can be and our new service has been well received by businesses and the public alike,” he said.

“The Clean Machine adds an extra daytime cleaning service to compliment the City’s existing cleaning program which consists of 59 dedicated cleaning staff and operates 20 hours a day, seven days a week.

“If you see a mess and want it cleaned up call 9461 3333 and the Clean Machine will get there as soon as possible.”

The Clean Machine consists of a specialised ATV allowing quick, easy, and convenient access, especially in the Malls and Forrest Place, as well as two wheelie bin walker operators.
