From 16 to 19 September, the four-day rally will take place across several sites in the City of Perth and the greater metropolitan area.

City of Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said the City had supported Targa West since its inception 17 years ago, with the event attracting an estimated 30,000 visitors to the city every year.

“This year, city visitors will be able to witness the exciting concluding stages of the event at the finale on Riverside Drive. They will not only share in the excitement of a rally stage in the city, but also enjoy the range of cars participating in the event up close,” City of Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said.

“This is yet another example of the City of Perth, through its sponsorship, getting behind events that add activity and excitement to our state capital, attracting visitors from across the state. We want to make Perth the events heart of Western Australia - not only for those attending, but for those wanting to host events here as well.”

The ceremonial start will be held in the Supreme Court Gardens on Thursday 16 September from 10.30am, with City of Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas waving the cars on to the tarmac.

The competitors will then compete on closed road special stages in and around Perth and the hills areas, prior to the finalé at the City of Perth Special Stage on Langley Park on 19 September.

The City of Perth has worked with event organisers on family friendly components, including a City of Perth Family Zone at Langley Park and Show ‘n’ Shine in Northbridge.

Visitors can get a glimpse of a wide range of competing cars including classics like Ford Escorts and Mustangs and even a range of electric vehicles like the Tesla Model 3 Performance.

Spectators and visitors to the Make Smoking History Targa West ceremonial start are encouraged to utilise public transport, with Elizabeth Quay Train Station providing close access to Supreme Court Gardens.
