The two-day event on June 21 and 22 aims to be a celebration of the technological breakthroughs which have made Australia’s resources industry the most innovative and competitive in the world.

City of Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said the showcase will exhibit technology set to transform the mining, defence and space industries.

“Global mining companies have called Perth home for decades with many headquartered in the City, and each with significant operations throughout WA,” he said.

“The resources sector has proven to be an economic game-changer for Western Australia, and we’re excited to see our homegrown technology on display for the whole community.

“Events such as the Resources Technology Showcase are hugely important not only for the sector, but also to provide a behind the scenes look at how our resource industry is evolving.

“This exhibition will help reshape perceptions of the industry, and with 80 schools expected to attend the event, the showcase has the opportunity to inspire the next generation of STEM students.”

Westrac will once again feature large scale mining equipment and trucks at Elizabeth Quay.

“Bring the kids down to see these monster trucks and get a taste of FIFO life in the City,” Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas said.

The Resources Technology Showcase event is expected to see more than 15,000 attendees at Elizabeth Quay and the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The event is free to enter, but registration is essential.
