Deputy Chair Commissioner Gaye McMath said an unprecedented rate of change and expansion has reinforced Perth’s position as a contemporary capital city.

“Following a review of the existing uses of the Northbridge Piazza and Community Centre, the City has developed a vision of transforming the area into a creative and cultural hub for the community, which will also support local traders” she said.

“The City is inviting expressions of interest from creative industry businesses, industry peak bodies, cultural organisations or community groups, with ideas geared towards facilitating sector growth at the Northbridge Piazza which can drive new community and activation outcomes.”

The Northbridge Piazza has the opportunity to be used for creative and cultural purposes across two main areas, or as one overall facility.

“These areas integrate with the Piazza grassed area and the HD Super screen, that can be accessed as part of a calendar of events, community uses, artistic programming or targeted activities,” the Deputy Chair Commissioner said.

“Whether it be technological initiatives, arts, start-ups or community groups, we want to drive diverse and creative cultural entrepreneurialism within the City.”
