NOTICE OF INTENTION TO LEVY DIFFERENTIAL RATES
The City of Perth hereby gives notice of its intention to levy differential general rates for the financial year 2026/27, based on the predominant use for which the rateable land is held or used as follows:

Cents per Dollar: 6.85000
Retail
Cents per Dollar: 6.95750
Hotel
Cents per Dollar: 7.10405
Office
Cents per Dollar: 5.75000
Residential
Cents per Dollar: 4.54500
Vacant Land
Cents per Dollar: 9.09000
Minimum Payment (Hotel, Retail and Residential)
Cents per Dollar: $850
Minimum Payment (Commercial and Office)
Cents per Dollar: $900
Minimum Payment (Vacant Land)
Cents per Dollar: $1,200
The proposed new rates are set at differential levels that provide, as far as is practically possible, a fair and equitable distribution of the rating effort to each category of land having regard to its demands on the City’s services.
A separate fee is charged for the collection of rubbish as per the approved schedule of fees and charges.
The Emergency Services Levy imposed by the State Government through the Department of Fire and Emergency Services will be raised on the Rate Notice and shown as a separate item.
A document describing the objects of and the reasons for each proposed rate and the minimum payment is available for inspection by electors and ratepayers at the City’s offices, Council House, 27 St Georges Terrace, Perth between 8.00 am and 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday, the City’s Library at 573 Hay St, Perth between 8.00 am and 6.00 pm, Monday to Friday, 10.00 am to 4.00 pm Saturday and 12.00 pm to 4.00 pm Sunday and on the website.
Electors and ratepayers are invited to make submissions in respect of the proposed rates, the minimum payment and any related matter within 21 days from the date of this notice.
