City of Perth Virtual Council Meetings

City of Perth Commissioners have determined that all meetings of Council will be conducted via videoconference for the foreseeable future to adhere to the Western Australian State Government’s declaration of a State of Emergency related to COVID-19. Interested attendees are welcome to watch Council Meetings via the Live Stream page.

Deputations will still take place. Requests to make a deputation must be emailed to governance@cityofperth.wa.gov.au by midday on the day of the meeting. The CEO will read the deputations aloud at the meeting.
Eligibility requirements

Applicants invited to present a deputation to a meeting must not:

  • Exceed five persons, only two of whom may address the meeting, although others may respond to specific questions from the members.
  • Address the meeting for a period exceeding 10 minutes without the agreement of the meeting.

For the purpose of determining who may address the council or committee on an issue, all those people either in favour of or opposed to an item are deemed to comprise a single deputation. The presiding member may decline the request.

Council or committee members will be granted the opportunity to ask the applicant questions at the conclusion of the deputation. A matter which is the subject of a deputation to council or committee is not to be decided until the applicant has completed the deputation. Once the deputation has concluded, the applicant will be requested to sit in the gallery and will not be permitted to speak again.
