The City of Perth Library is open. Please read the important information below to help you plan your visit.
From 5 December 2020, everyone who enters the Library will be required to record their details on our contact register or register via the SafeWA app. This is a WA Government requirement, designed to assist the WA Health Department with COVID-19 contact tracing. If you have questions about this requirement, please see the WA Government website.
Our furniture has been arranged carefully to encourage physical distancing. Please do not move it.
Public computers are available for those who need to use them.
Ground Floor: Five computers are available. Please ask staff for a guest pass to access. Sessions are 20 minutes, two sessions per person, per day.
Level Two: Six computers are available. Sessions are 60 minutes with a City of Perth Library card, one session per person, per day.
Level Five: Two computers are available for young adults and patrons with guest passes. Restrictions apply.
Printing, scanning and copying is available.
Meeting room bookings
Meeting rooms are available for bookings. Please see the Meeting Rooms page for details.
Auditorium hire
The Auditorium is available for hire with a reduced capacity. Please see the Event Spaces page for details.
History Centre
Please email enquiries to the History Centre.
Mixed Bag (we select, you collect)
If you don’t have time to browse and choose items, email us at perth.library@cityofperth.wa.gov.au or phone us on 9461 3500 to request a Mixed Bag selection. We’ll ask for your preferences, then carefully select five items for you. We’ll notify you when your items are ready. Please visit to collect your items within seven days of receiving your notification. Your items can be collected from the reservation shelves on the Ground Floor.

Measures to protect public health
Please do not visit the Library if you, or a person you are in close contact with, are unwell. In line with government directives:
- Only 300 patrons are permitted in the Library building at a time.
- All Library patrons and staff are expected to practice physical distancing.
- All visitors are encouraged to wash their hands regularly, or use the hand sanitiser and trolley wipes provided.
